I find them every now and again. Never heard of them or saw one until like 2 years ago. They seem rather harmless, and haven't "smelled" anything from any of them yet.

Growing up we had "earwigs". and they scared the bejeezus out of me!! Little pinchy looking bastards!!

You can thank Kathianne for that! I was looking at various models, but then she posted about the "instant pot". Same as you, I looked it up and it didn't take long to make my decision. That was yesterday, and here it is today!
A pressure cooker is for quick cooking, and has a locking top, so it won't blow off, lol. Slow cooker lids are usually glass, and works in the opposite way.

I think this thing has both, not sure. It better, or I blame Kath!!

I wish I had that spaghetti sauce back now so I could cook it as a test.

This is a stink bug. Showed up in NJ `5 years ago and then some swam the river to over here. Or took the free bridges?

No! These kinds have a lot of safety features that the old timers didn't.

Yep, like I said on one of the deleted posts, the Instapot is 'smart' bluetooth I believe. Anyways has some sort of auto shut off if goes too high in pressure.

7 in 1. Smart tech. I'm buying one for my niece for wedding. I know I'll get one for myself.

I see it dripping out from underneath the crock pot. They have 2 valve like looking things under there, and it seemed to be coming out of the one on the left.

So I turned it off and put the entire thing in the sink. I wanted to look between the pot itself, and the heating element it sits within, to see what the hell is going wrong. I think I found out what the problem is.

Here is the pot that is supposed to HOLD the sauce and meatballs:

And here is the semi-frozen sauce, sitting on the bottom of the element, not heating up, because it was too busy dripping out the bottom. I don't know if putting something frozen in there caused this, or if it was put away broken, or if it was just it's time to croak.

There's a hole in the pot.

    Hey Jim,

    To get you started: http://www.theprairiehomestead.com/2...t-recipes.html

Recipes that are based on the appliance, get the 'feel for it.'
(I like this for the intro. The 'Whole Chicken Recipe' is what I'd start with.)

    Now here's a 'man's site': http://dadcooksdinner.com/2015/01/in...uestions.html/

    Recipes look good too!
