TMZ is reporting that he had a drug overdose about a week ago. Link tomorrow; too tired now.

I did not really care much for him, but know others did.

Shame any talent expires early - a la Jim Morrison,
    Karen Carpenter.
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

Prince was a genius. But it seems he quit using it around 1992.

Wonder if Morrison and Hendrix would have continued their genius or let it waste away.

    he was a true artist; a freaky-deaky pancake-making artist.

    RIP Mr. Nelson.

“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

Personally, I thought he just a little freak with a voice.

My wife liked Purple Rain so I heard it a few times but he was way to effeminate for me.

Prince wasn't my favorite, and his style wasn't exactly my style. But he played a mean guitar and could sing pretty good too, even if it weren't rock and roll.

But when I think of Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, Lets go Crazy, Raspberry Beret - they all bring me back to my high school days, and make me think of younger years.

My Son in Law in Maine works at a place called Bullmoose, they sell music and other stuff.

Says after Merle passed, his stuff flew out the door.

Same shit's happening now for Prince
Every day I beat my previous record of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

Wasn't a huge fan, but he had some great songs and sounds, undeniably an icon.

Also little known fact - Prince was vegan, as came through in songs like Animal Kingdom:
No member of the animal kingdom nurses past maturity
No member of the animal kingdom ever did a thing to me
It's why I don't eat red meat or white fish
Don't give me no blue cheese
We're all members of the animal kingdom
If you also agree that an animals suffering should be avoided rather than encouraged, consider what steps you can take.

Not even bleu cheese? Why not? That a vegan thing, vegetarian too? Honest question, obviously I don't know much about being a vegan.

I was shocked to see his home in pictures today. Looked like he lived in some factory type place called "Paisley Park". Surprised he wasn't in some monster sized purple mansion.

You were still in high school then? Crap, I think I was on my second deployment. What a diaper-wearing goober you are.

Animal cheeses are non-vegan, so vegans will not eat them, blue or otherwise.

Vegetarians depends on the individual, many will eat cheese regardless of source or production, some will only eat 'vegetarian cheese' which is animal cheese that has not had calf rennet (an enzyme harvested from calf stomachs) used to produce it.
