My first mishap in the boat! As I was coming in to our parking spot for the boats at the cabin, I hit a sneaky gravel bar and sucked some rocks through the jet... I shut her down, but it was too late. One rock managed to get through the intake grate and jammed itself in the impeller, which crippled the boat.
Fortunately, my friend Junior was along and he's got small enough hands to reach in through the inspection plate on the jet and removed the rock - he saved the day!

Some fishing action... one on the beach, and another on the way. The fishing was pretty hot, the first 10 casts produced 9 fish.

Junior with his first Grayling. Pretty small one, but they're very pretty. I think my lense was smudged on my phone, so the colors are a bit washed out.

Part of the Fleet at rest... I'm flying the Jolly Roger. Yarrr!

Looks desolate. Nice pictures, though. Hope you had an enjoyable time.
One of our goals was to get the foundation pilings set for a new cabin being built behind our cabin. The digging is a real chore, so some energetic teenagers were enlisted to help out.
I expect we'll have this cabin walled in by July or so due to all of us working long hours in the Summer and being unable to get up there every weekend.

Steak. It's what's for dinner.

Dylan, Junior and Joe - part of my crew that I imported from Montana. Cabin trips are fringe bennies, they had a hell of a good time.

My boat at the Talkeetna boat launch, waiting to pick up Sharon & take her up the river.
Had to take down the Jolly Roger and fly the colors for Memorial Day.

Game Cam installed - this one will hold 10,000 pictures at 6 megapixels at 10 second intervals when there's motion detected, and it also has night vision capability.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of critters we get through there whilst we're gone. I'm going to get one that rides on the cellular network and can text me photos when it takes one.
