Looking Back At Time's Receding Echoes
I write so that my mind will thus obey
Commands that memory and heart reveal
Rare gems reside in every dawn's new day
Increasing passion in all we may feel
I look back at Time's receding echoes
With pain for losses sadly meant to be
Walking back, bare-footed with seeking toes
caressing sands of future dying sea
What of glories fallen and now long gone
Deep loves that too soon withered on the vine
Mere mortals, weak beasts wrapped in flesh and bone
Forever beg, more rot on which to dine
Where will a man's path deliver his heart
If carrion fills his deep trailing cart

Sky And Clouds May Water Our Soul's Life Tree
Sky And Clouds May Water Our Soul's Life Tree
The truth was concealed with many branches
therein rest many roads to hell's fury.
How boring if man took no big chances
to avoid verdict from Fate's last jury.
Long roads strewn chest-deep with heavy boulders
often birth the much needed final strength.
We find burdens relieved on our shoulders
regardless of epic pain and great length.
We can carry truth at heaviest cost
when our tree is watered with compassion
For light's divine mercy tis never lost
if man lives by faith, not by greed's fashion
Sky and clouds may water our soul's life tree
yet bearing fruit tis up to you and me.

Regretting Cake
So many sweet cookies I never found
when my journey led to chocolate cake.
I heard their deep, tasty echoing sound
Alas! I was sure their music was fake.
That darkened path sent me into lost spin
sugar and energy in heaps and mounds.
Such delight just had to be a great sin
with pure bliss ate by magnificent pounds.
Chocolate icing slayed me with each slice
eager mind, it soothed and turned upside down.
Yet in its embrace everything was nice
I was living large, happy as a clown.
Cookies loomed large in back of hungry mind
Alas! Their path I simply could not find.

Fire And Torture, Chained Under Raging Sun
Relentless sun on bare naked back beat
in tune with this evil world's gauging eyes
Prisoner prayed death for relief to eat
beneath doom and hot miserable skies
Had not short life cast its deep slashing hits
memories of her and angelic love lost
Rage came and left his pleading soul in fits
had he not sought her love at any cost
Fire and torture, chained under raging sun
with her dreams now stone-dead in crying heart
Forever gone her touch and midnight fun
romantic souls eternally torn apart
Burning sun's fire had played its fated part
Death and life, paintings for a dark god's art

Deepest Love Destroyed By Blackest Of Lies
Flailing away against dark, stormy wind
daggers cutting up lonely tormented heart.
What more can evil dare my way to send
before anguished soul decides to depart?
Thunder roars, ears hears unrelenting cries
agony grows with every booming clap.
Deepest love destroyed by blackest of lies
where can be found, sweet escape from that trap?
Rolling clouds, blocking truth's shining relief
under cascading gloom and stone cold hail.
Will justice match honorable belief
to fight and this thundering storm thus quell?
Hope, hold on, light's pure truth will one day shine.
Faith and pure love will once again be mine!

Burnt Into Ash My Sad Soul Looks Far Back
In youth, my spirit was a climbing vine
dressed in green leaves upon white oak tree
Seeking light, I was walking a true line
in shade of path that was truly free
Storms weathered sheltering branches
bringing sun's hot beams upon my head
I sought more, took gravest of chances
of true love's blessing and being well fed
Once cast upon dirt and parched ground
my legs found needed strength to run
Racing winds sent that deceiving sound
soon, I forgot the heat of blazing sun
Burnt into ash my sad soul looks far back
Long ago, in tree's top, I was once on track

In Dreams, We Danced In Flowered Meadows
I wrote you, yet only to find silence
cast into shadows were clear sun once beamed
Was hiding so far away your defense
from my love that saddened earth and sky screamed
Where moonlight once graced our united stars
now empty sky holds its long, darkened veils
Polishing my hope, I ignore these scars
sending me through nights, red-hot burning hells
Stay alive, if need be wait in shadows
my heart endures, that Fate may give relief
In dreams, we danced in flowered meadows
WE AGAIN LOVE AND DEAR LIFE HOLDS NO GRIEF!
Writing you, to rekindle love's fire
upon ashes of its funeral pyre

Yes Dewdrops, Glisten Well The Singing Grass
Yes. I saw sweetest songbird's glee
Morn's rising glow, promise of heart's content
Life. Sells out fast, yet nothing is free
Spring returns with renewed merriment
Dew. Graces all under its wet veil
Gentle breeze eases in soothing song
Hope. Coins in a hollow wishing well
Time and Fate, both dance right on along
Drops of rain. Nourish earth and soul
Green grows as Nature gives its blessing
Love. Wanted, but may take a toll
Mercy shines. After true confessing
Yes dewdrops, glisten well the singing grass
Racing youth, far too soon, it too shall pass

We Walked The Night Sands Moon Shining Down
Walking the white sands by the windy sea
Lost in my deep thoughts of love, you and me
Nights in private, locked in long held embrace
In hearts glow, our most cherished hidden place
I walked flowing hills, where we once danced
Waded flowering meadows, where we romanced
Sun and blue sky both reminded me of you
If only, once again blessed, we could do
We journeyed into Nature and love's bliss
O' how that time, I now so sorely miss
We lost our way, coming storm tore us apart
I could not forgive, when you broke my heart
We walked the night sands, moon shining down
I still see you, in your white flowing gown

That is lovely! You may convert me to a poem lover!
Moonlight and A River Thought
A walk down by the river to settle a worrisome thought
crazy , mixed up mind battles far too many fought
The river's passing with its soothing smooth flowing sound
brings images of angels dancing to the trumpet's sound
Rage not against fate's dark hand nor its unyielding wall
pray for abundant life, pray for gentle mercies on us all
Swift waters flowing in soft, soothing serenity
reminding of Time and perhaps even another Eternity
Moonlight upon waters each glimmering with rippled swirl
reminding of life's sweet love of a beautiful girl
Echoing splashes of fish jumping out into the sky
enjoying a bit of Nature's treasure, not asking why
A river thought, stored in the mind's deep treasure vault
Place and time, life's dream in which tis blessed to be caught

In Dark Dreams
In dark dreams, seeing visions of the dead
behind veils of space and withered grapes on the vine,
we that live, love our pleasures so much instead
paying scant heed to the coming end of our line.
Ah, but Fate dances about with a wicked smile
in shoes that have no merciful souls,
seeing through our indifference and clever guile
often destroying our life's most cherished goals.
Consider the ant- toils hard but dies just the same
while we dance in folly, no soles on our shoes,
to Death we are all targets just the same
ignorant and blind, wading in with no clues.
In dark dreams, blessed if we wake before they slay
In dark dreams, blessed if we but live - yet another day!

Dark Seed Begs A Black Crop
Dark Seed Begs A Black Crop
Seed was planted, man's heart found death is dark,
where great truth was recanted,
misery brazenly stark.
Black hearts forward , never getting their fill,
falling forever downward,
where Fate delivers its kill.

Dawn Burst Forth, Earth Was Drinking Its New Rain
Dawn burst forth, earth was drinking its new rain
Had I been asleep-in dreams far afield
In soft slumber, void of my usual pain
Or merely hiding behind my sword and shield
Sun cast its plentiful, dazzling new rays
Down on longings of a miserable man
In this dark, dark cold-world everybody pays
O' to escape again, if only I can
Evening shadows now wrap my soul in stone
Even as black darkness races to invade
Shielding me from hard hits and broken bone
And all righteous punishment I have made
Midnight's hours battled, promising to save
An unworthy soul from an early grave

To The Brave, An Honorable Grave
To the brave, an honorable grave:
To the kind, reward of a peaceful mind:
To trusting soul, entry Heaven's gate -no toll:
To those embracing His light, no fear of night.
Upon earth tread angels in disguise
Tallying and helping the righteous weak;
A word of caution to those so unwise,
Evil tormentors of those that angels seek.
Such guarding ends not, with setting sun
nor the trap of dungeons where victims lie
Angels- never defeated by force or gun
Trek here as plentiful as clouds in the sky.
Beware of that soft whisper to cease
A warning to hold back angry wrath;
Guardians can and do protect their peace
guiding the lost back onto well lit path.
To the brave, an honorable grave:
To the kind, reward of a peaceful mind:
To trusting soul, entry Heaven's gate -no toll:
To those embracing the light, no fear of night.
