No question about it. The anonymity the internet provides (for example) emboldens some to say things that otherwise civilized folks would never dare to say to another in person. Ease of access to porn of all types, television, radio and other forms of public media help spread whatever nefarious cause or propaganda some want to spread. Lies and deceit are more than common place anymore because of "technology".
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
    Thomas Jefferson

I think that this is a booster, a catalyzer but not the reason. The reason is an itch for gain which became the aim of the life, shifting the traditional moral aside, presenting a sin as a norm of a life and cultivating permissiveness.
Such things already happened in the History of mankind. I am speaking about Sodom and Gomorrah and Ancient Rome.

Advances in technology lead to Americans dancing, and rock & roll, the utter ruination of morality in America.
If you also agree that an animals suffering should be avoided rather than encouraged, consider what steps you can take.

You missed in the title about whether technology HELPED deteriorate morals, not the "utter ruination". But trolling is trolling!

The internet has certainly enabled vices to be indulged at a whole new level. But man's sinful nature will always find a way regardless.

It's not the technology, it's the way people using it feel free to abuse it:

Whether it's someone on social media choosing to ignore, even celebrate, common civility.

A politician choosing to go outside of the law in an attempt to use the technology without accountability or another that uses it to bully individuals, organizations, and businesses.

However, that doesn't mean that the benefits do not outweigh the negatives. Like all other 'revolutions' some will adapt and learn to use and not abuse, others will continue to exploit the holes, but will eventually find it's themselves that pay the biggest price.

I have to go outside to smoke, and of course I'm a people watcher so I see the teens going to the bus stop. One girl in particular amazes me by the fact she is still alive. It would take a surgical team to get her face out of that phone.
