I am a Christian because I accept the word of God to be divine. There is no correct or incorrect way to worship God.
I like your post, Gabby, although I would argue that we have lots of written documents from the time of Jesus - basically all four Gospels and the rest of the New Testament. All written by people that were there, and with better authenticity & provenance than other historical documents that no one argues about.
I also might say that some ways of worshiping God are better than other ways, but I will leave it at that.
