God that is the worst thing i've read.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
I've always wondered about skimming in scenarios like that.
There would be really no way, outside of a sting operation, to monitor an agent's use of cash to bribe the players in any operation like that.
If Rambo in Afghanistan is going to bribe Achmed to rat out his cousin MoMo, who would be the wiser if he kept $5k for himself? We throw a lot of money at locals to get info, or services, or assistance. Of course it's necessary because the American dollar reigns supreme the world over and we have a lot of them, but I've always been curious to see what - if any - safeguards are in place to check skimming or outright cash grabs with a bogus explanation.
For certain there's got to be a high incidence of a potential bribee disappearing after the briber handed over cold hard cash.

Pretty crappy journalist you are, Pete. The title of the article does not say "SEALs Killed Green Beret".
It says"Green Beret Killed in Mali Discovered SEALs Illicit Cash Scheme"; which, is misleading enough without you piggybacking your own theory as a thread title. The writer purposefully included the 2 events in the same header to lead people like you to an assumption, and you took the bait.
And military personnel don't go on "administrative leave". That's a civilian deal. You just get reassigned to some shit duty pending the outcome of the investigation, but you aren't on leave. Leave means you get to go sit home. More than likely they will be denied leave if they even request it. The military will want to keep a thumb on their whereabouts.

Petey knows somebody, who knows somebody, who knew somebody that knew somebody who took part in a Money Scam that ending in the death of somebody petey claimed he knew. So...we must assume...Petey is responsible????

The thread title and the post are in keeping with the intent of the linked article. What it looks like is the SEALs killed the SF Soldier. It's not disingenuous to make that leap.
