Rose Colored Dawn's Gave Her Those Bright Smiles

Rose colored dawn's gave her those bright smiles
her every move, was music that beguiles.
Her name was Sarah Ann and this she knew
life's good, love is greater, sky is soft blue.

May fourth, she found me there, under oak tree
then we both knew, in true love we would be.
Time and sweet life flew forth, so very fast
with both hearts praying this could always last.

Alas! This ole world had other dark plans
and of its evil winds we were not fans.
Then came a monster took her life away
car accident, she died that tragic day.

Rose colored dawn's gave her those bright smiles
her every move, was music that beguiles.

Old Note- Fate and its ill winds spare no man.

New Note-- Fate and Time both work to destroy Life and Love....
Yet we must see past that sad reality and enjoy life with those we love and the remaining days that we have..

Live, Love True, Write Poetry And Read It

As we learn living from cradle to grave
truth is, what we spend we can not save
As we sing and dance sorrows oft appear
sadly, too many are born of great fear.

When we dream, our seeking souls are dancing
whether about wealth or sweet romancing
So dance and let 'er loose from time to time
two nickels are no better than a dime.

Caution, if you ride too hard and too fast
quite likely neither you or horse will last
Pace set, one that hears music and the band
love, heart and patience your life will expand.

Live, love true, write poetry and read it
Joy's crop flourishes if you but seed it.

Taking Only, Gems In My Hidden Store

Seven sunsets, this soul shall see no more
Blindness decries, sadder life once danced.
Into vapors, to walk that brighter shore
With greater sight, and new spirit enhanced.

Earthen vessels, shallow shells that expire
Willing spirits, eager to walk blinded.
Chosen mortals, chosen for their fire
Leave behind ink, so some are reminded.

Final sailing, one more week to explore
Sweeter dream-nights, once gifting deeper life.
Taking only, gems in my hidden store
Golden thoughts of you waiting there my wife.

Seven sunsets, this soul shall see no more.
Into vapors, to walk that brighter shore.

Sonnet On, We Poets And Our Poetry
Written early this morn and after a restless night of dreams.
Life oft beats on us (viciously), the measure of our worth is how defiantly we fight back, IMHO.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SHY ABOUT FIGHTING BACK-- AND ALSO EVEN IN WRITING BACK WITH WORDS TOO.
When life finds you are winning--it reminds you that Time will give it the victory in the end-for death destroys our existence and we each must face that losing battle sooner or later.
My muse insists that I oft write dark poetry- to remind me that my current blessings are only temporary.
She is one cruel mistress but hey, perhaps it takes that to even get this stubborn ole mule to flinch! -- --Tyr

Sonnet On, We Poets And Our Poetry

Poets, if they say they are alright are just lying
for far too oft we write just to keep from crying.
Crying in sorrow for this dark, red-bleeding world
whose banner is tragedy, flying high, unfurled!

And why not, are not our thoughts worthy to be read
should we remain silent, ignore evil instead?
Nay! Poetry also must send messages clear
we write, bowing to no man and face our great fear!

Last night, black-shadows woke me to torment my soul
defeat my spirit, destroy poet's heart their goal!
Nay! Such darkness shall never win, never succeed
for ink fills my veins, I shall write until I bleed!

Poets, we are far more than just blind, scampering mice
Need one say much more or repeat this poem thrice?

An Old Timer's Advice To Rash Young Lads

When youthful ardor flows like raging flood,
temptation's ills are waiting in the blood.
Even with painful lessons in the past,
nothing stops that hot-rush and cannons blast!

When Spring air brings out that deep mating call
some think of love desires, nary its fall.
Yet in youth falls come and oft with a shock,
like a swift cut, bare neck, head on the block!

The wise learn and control their emotions
love is work and not some magic potion.
Keep a level head and know love is real
not a treasure one can barter or steal!

When young love stirs two hearts, comes a'callin
Slow down, keep your head avoid the fallin'

I Wanted To Write You A Poem, You Cried For A Song

I wanted to write you a poem, you cried for a song
I say instead, in our paradise again, we belong,
Babe, your blessed life and love holds my eternal embrace
Every night in living dreams, I see your beautiful face.

All treasure in paradise, holds your brightest golden smile,
I've tried every device to bring you back a little while,
Know my dearest angel, these true words just may be my last
Soon I will sail this sinking ship, while tied to its mainmast.

I wait your reply, please forgive my not writing a song
Remember dear, in our paradise again, we belong,
Sweetheart, your kisses and loving touch, soon became my all
That was before the great tragedy of our heavy fall.

I wanted to write you a poem, you cried for a song.
I say instead, in our paradise again, we belong.

Annabel, Do You Gaze, From Time's Ancient Skies

Annabel, you inspired words that gifted us all
Such as never before seen, on this earthen ball.
With pain and insight, Master Poe over you wept
Deepest in his broken heart, your love was there kept.

Annabel, you inspired words that gifted us all
With that blessing many have answered its great call.
As Master Poe, we came to see and understand
Life is not all rosy, sweet music from a band.

Annabel, your image now burns in poet's brains
Master Poe's love for you, tempers this world's dark stains.
Yes, our ink now wets new pages, hopes for tomorrows
As we read saddest words of Master Poe's sorrows.

Annabel, for a goddess your were in disguise.
Are you now looking at us, from Time's ancient skies?

Slow Down Your Life Is Not A Damn Horse Race

If you want to see in your old age, sunset glows
find more peaceful calm days with far, far fewer foes,
walk your own horse and stop all that damn mad-racing
if you do not, your own joy you are displacing.

In youth you fail to see future's greatest treasures
can be harvested easily with softer measures,
so lose the whip and slow down that sad silly pace
else bitter tis the music you will one day face!

Hold true this prospect, that tomorrow never waits,
horses should spend more time in pastures than at gates,
yes the riders benefits from those idle hours
remember crops do not grow without rain showers!

What good living longer, if life is not better
give up that racing horse, buy an Irish Setter.

I Linger Long, On That Bountiful Feast I Still Dine

Moon's illuminations through dark window of sorrows
cast moments of relief and "Hope for my tomorrows".
Looking out, stars parade around truly wondrous scene
stopping foulest of shadows sent, to sad soul demean.

Back down to earth, into night forest seeking eyes gaze
searching for deeper healing from "Nature's darkened maze".
As moon's light gave rise to think, all is not a lost cause
I thank heaven's beauty giving this comforting pause.

Such peaceful silence next broken by a faint- Who, Who
an owl has spoken, "Hold this gift now given to you".
Heart skips a beat, knowing this is a heavenly sign
waves of sweetest joy surge forth, "Saying all will be fine"!

With hope for my tomorrows, saying all will be fine
I linger long, on that bountiful feast I still dine.

Just An Old Poet, Holding On Until I Die

I write verse, live in the moment and score the past
oft revealing naked truths that set some aghast,
yet with rhyme and reason, I ink stain each white page,
some even tried to knock me off the poet's stage.

Tho' pen, paper and I felt no panicking fear
my course was set, but it was not always so clear,
wrote furiously for a time, to make my mark,
world brutally beat me, prospects were very stark.

As time flowed on by, and with wisdom slowly gained
inking pages, I saw they were not so badly stained,
life had given perspective and a renewed lease
although not Jason, I had found my golden fleece.

Just an old poet, holding on until I die
poetry is my treasure, do not ask me why!

Can We Join Again, Seek Love's Promised Goal

What awesome color was our love my dear
glowing pink, vibrant blue or sultry red?
Did we not love so fiercely without fear
dance, laughing gaily without dreaded dread?

Yes my love, I was a fool that was weak,
in my greed, sought to have very much more.
In darkness, lies came each time I would speak
once I tread, black waters in hell's first shore!

What now my love, is forgiveness a path
or in your anger, hurt pride just more wrath?
Does it matter, I overcame that dark
finally faced all, live with this black mark?

This note sent, written by a weeping soul.
Can we dance again, seek love's promised goal?

Where Distant Shores, Offer Real Peace And Renewed Hearts

Where distant shores, enter into dream's sweetest glows
there Hope and Love, counter life's hardest of hard blows.
In such mystical realms our spirits can then soar,
far above tragedy this dark world gladly pours.
In that paradise where love sings its sweetest sounds,
blessed we are, to find world's pain no longer pounds.

Where distant shores- offer sun, sky and sandy beach
Hope and Love can mortal lives so happily teach.
Each day is a gift, if we embrace Truth and Light,
walk a bold path, ever seek to do what is right.
In that dreamworld bring our sorrows from dark of night
with the newfound gift of relief from fearful fright.

Where distant shores, offer real peace and renewed hearts
all may find souls receiving gifts true love imparts.

When Death And Darkness Consume Youth's Brave Heart

When so very young, life cut him to bleed blood red
    day's illuminations sought refuge far away;
He did not seek grace but with courage fought instead
when better was to seek healing Light, kneel to pray.

Battle, necessity demands deep rage be born
    for darkness and malevolence consume all heart;
long tentacles of evil make living forlorn
ripping any shreds of peace, love and joy apart.

As he began to love cuts of bright crimson flow
    sorrow diminished and he embraced waves of hate;
soon so lost, all pleasures came from ill winds that blow
too oft, evil becomes irreversible Fate.

Now a soldier feared by darkest of wicked beasts.
He too joins in death's all consuming bloody feasts.

Old Note- The tragedy that war too oft destroys even those that survive it.

New Note- Nothing changed, war is still the last act one should choose to resolve conflict.
Yet as mankind is fallen, war is an unavoidable curse of walking in blindness, IMHO.--TYR

When Thy Heart And Soul Have Both Been Fleeced

When thy heart and soul have both been fleeced
world shattered, thy hidden demons released,
canyons of whirling circles in night dreams
dark rules, no saving light left that redeems.
    Life raped, your sanctuary invaded,
joy for epic pains were thus dark-traded
truth is, Hope has yet to be defeated,
shall not be, if Love is not ill-treated.

Look up! Bright sun still shines upon thy head
Spring is golden, gleaming roses are red,
world kicked hard but races on as before
lift thy head, open eyes, walk through that door.

When all is said and done, know this reward
greater that gift when life faced was so hard.

Where Love Was So Hot, It Melts Hardest Of Stone

He loved her so much, his soul awash in her all
Forever had no real meaning until she came
Her touch, searing flame that inspired his lustful call
She the ravishing beauty, he wild and untamed

Together, dark and evil world appeared so bright
Future promised paradise and castles of gold
Glowing moons honored them on hottest love filled nights
Unknown, yet theirs was greatest story ever told

Dawn's first wakening shown only in her bright smiles
His heart and soul tender, seeking beautiful flame
With true love, no jealous envy or clever wiles
Each whispered prayers of love, saying the other's name

Where Love was so hot, that it melts hardest of stone
They had found Love, never again to be alone

Why Poets Are An Illumination In This Dark World

Gifting poetic words, let the flow be of friendly act
and not darker falsehoods that so many fear to retract,
if honor and truth's justice abides to steel your bold charge
know that such aid is rewarded, with blessings small and large!
Wherein earthen rulers crack cruel whips and thus command
ill-gained fruits from miserable poor that hard work the land,
poets live to pontificate and Light's truth thus extol
dire penalties for evil, burning fires of Sheol!
Why write if not to deliver Love's magnificent heart
sacrifice gems of soul seeking grace and thereby impart,
life's lessons, to benefit this darken world's fallen blind
walk lit path, see goodness manifold, returned in kind.

Allow poets this noble quest to create gifts that may heal
Follow sage wisdom, send heart's purest joy to seal the deal.
