Default Coronavirus spread by asymptomatic people 'appears to be rare,' WHO official says

    GREAT NEWS, thank God.

Coronavirus spread by asymptomatic people 'appears to be rare,' WHO official says

    CNN

"The spread of Covid-19 by someone who is not showing symptoms appears to be rare, Maria Van Kerkhove, the World Health Organization's technical lead for coronavirus response and head of the emerging diseases and zoonoses unit, said during a media briefing in Geneva on Monday.

"From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual," Van Kerkhove said on Monday.
"We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing. They're following asymptomatic cases, they're following contacts and they're not finding secondary transmission onward. It is very rare -- and much of that is not published in the literature," she said. "We are constantly looking at this data and we're trying to get more information from countries to truly answer this question. It still appears to be rare that an asymptomatic individual actually transmits onward."..

So can we stop wearing the mask yet?
Can we stop pretending were saving Grandma by not working?
Can we OPEN everything and shake hands and Go to Church?

seriously unless you're in the most susceptible groups, It seems like there's nothing to fear but fear itself at this point.

That "trace study" shows that Operation COVID is an ongoing biological warfare attack. We must think in terms of military tactics and strategy here, because we're being attacked by the US Federal Government, the Deep State, and the WHO.

It is good news if it holds up. The "experts" keep changing their minds it seems. And why the spikes? Are people with symptoms being irresponsible?

This is all frustrating because we are supposed to treat what these experts say like it's gospel truth but the"gospel" keeps changing as they learn more.

During this Covid thing, the media have used every trick they have.

    1. Making stuff up
    2. Ignoring facts that contradict their narrative
    3. Changing the "facts" at will.
    4. Calling anyone who disagrees with their confusing and ever-changing narrative, either a conspiracy theorist, an uninformed rube, an evil person who wants the disease to spread so people will die, or all three.
    5. Completely dropping the narrative when mass gatherings happen that they agree with (Floyd riots and funeral services) except for gatherings they don't agree with (church gatherings, anti-lockdown protests).
    6. And trying to selectively revive the narrative when they find out Trump rallies are being planned.

I don't know how anyone takes them seriously.

If you have cable TV, you are subsidizing this madness. Please do yourself a favor and cancel it, ASAP. TYVM.

Every time I hear the phrase, "we're all in this together," I want to slap somebody.

You guys do know that they later corrected this mistake, and said that the asymptomatic cases passing are approximately 40%?

So like I said - NOT rare as folks are running with. Some jumped all over it due to arguments about masks. This didn't negate that anyway, but now only supports them further knowing the large chances of getting it from asymptomatic folks.

WHO Walks Back Statement That Asymptomatic Coronavirus Transmission Is ‘Very Rare,’ Now Says It Could Be ‘Around 40%’

The World Health Organization (WHO) walked back a statement made yesterday that asymptomatic transmission is “very rare,” saying at a press conference Tuesday morning that some estimates show asymptomatic transmission rate could be as high as 40%.

The organization’s technical lead for COVID-19, Maria Van Kerkhov, said at a press conference Monday that it’s ‘very rare’ for patients who have coronavirus without showing any symptoms to transmit the virus to another person.

“From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual,” she said Monday according to CNBC.

Tuesday morning, the WHO said at a press conference that some estimates show that “around 40%” of transmission may be due to asymptomatic transmission.

The 40 percent makes more sense to me. It's hard to believe that it was spreading nearly exclusively due to people with symptoms. What would that say about the those folks selfishness?

I thought it was kinda common sense, but I understand as this virus does weird things. But almost all of them come with folks able to carry it and spread without getting sick themselves much. When they initially said it was "rare", I thought it odd based on all the previous data from epidemiologists and others.

Agreed. Person who said it was rare should be fired. This is nothing to play with.

And yes it's common sense. It can be easy to be swayed by one report... By One rogue official.

What evidence do they bring to bear to come up with the "40%" number. the same one's they began with before looking at actual data?
they say "some estimates show that “around 40%”"

that's pretty flaky sounding especially in the light of some of the "estimates" they gave at the beginning of this thing were like 2 million U.S. dead. And hospitals overflowing with patients and not enough ventilators.
