    Default Cabin for Sale

We went up on a 14 mile ride to check out a cabin for sale on the Deshka River... Jim and Darin might remember where that turnoff is on the highway to Talkeetna. It isn't far.

Unfortunately, after seeing it, my friends aren't overly enthusiastic about it. I am, it's got amazing potential.

I'd be very interested in this if I didn't already have my cabin.

Certainly has a lot of additional buildings. Does it have an indoor bathroom?

There's a few other cabins in the area. Closest town is Willow, about 15 - 20 miles away as the crow flies.

You access this place from Deshka Landing and it's 14 miles from there.

No, but that would be easy. Just put in a septic system, he's already got running water from an artesian well and that's the hard part.

3 bars of service on the cell.

That some hot damn I see there?

Not so sure I remember the turn off? Refresh my brain, I'll remember...

What do I see in there? A firewood spot? Or a small garage if one wants. That's a big ass main house, and a big ass gas can on the side to match! No more buzzing out at 3am for fuel! Outhouse actually a mini-house? Is this place in the "main" land on more on the grid? I see a light and some wiring. Just doesn't look quite as private as L5. Then is that another big garage for machines? Or some beer too it appears? Then looks like another cabin there with it, the smaller joint? Then looks like a damn business size garage? Pretty damn big and a lot of property built up already.

From what I recall of prices when I peeked around for awhile.... why does this prices seem low in comparison?

Fireball Whiskey... I know you remember that stuff! My friend Joe and his fiance wanted to go look at it, but they don't have snowmachines yet and she was reluctant to ride a machine solo, so I put the 2-up seat on my sled and let them ride it. I rode the red 550 Sport.

Chilton and I were cruising 20' apart from each other doing about 40 when suddenly Joe flashed past us doing about 70 on my sled. And she was pounding on him to get him to slow down.... he did. It was funny.

On the way back down we put some Fireball down her and she relaxed & had fun with some hot dogging.

Remember on the highway heading to Talkeetna, Willow was that big gas station and that airplane outfit has that plane on the roof of his business right next to the road. That's Willow.

Yeah, he's got 2 bunkhouses and a few sheds, and a huge shop.

This guy is a Vietnam Vet, was there during the Tet Offensive with the 101st. He's getting up in years and living out there full time is becoming harder for him. He wants to get something a little easier to access for his primary residence.

I'm not sure, but I don't think there are many people buying right now.

Good! Cell phone service is important for outdoor bathrooms!

Oh yeah! I'm usually not one to get loaded, but it was quite easy when it goes down quickly and tastes cool! Had more than a blast, but obviously gotta be careful!

Yups, definitely remember the plane, and got a pic of it somewhere. Only thing I remember about Willow was the potential of shooting there on the machines to have a few beers or 30 and watch the Iditarod get started.
