Default The Roar of the .460

Just had 11 people up at the cabin from Minnesota, no Kings but they enjoyed the trip very much.

The younger guys wanted to fire off my Smith & Wesson .460, and we ended up getting a couple of really cool pics :

I've been trying to get that shot for years now, last night it finally happened!

It has a muzzle brake on it, that's why there's so much fire in the first pic going backwards toward the shooter. I didn't ever realize just how much explosive fire there is for that millisecond! I think it's one of the coolest action shots I've ever seen.

Nice...let me add...... A 454 Casull can deliver 50% to 100% more energy than a 44 and the 460 S&W is even more powerful.

... Consider that Hornady's product line shows a 200-grain bullet in 44 Magnum at 1500 fps and the same weight in 460 S&W is listed at 2,200 fps(!!!!)

    In terms of energy.. the 44 Magnum is delivering about 999 ft/lbs ... the 460 S&W is 2,149 ft/lbs.

....44 Magnum is no slouch.. it's a plenty powerful round in its own right but it just isn't in the same class as the 460....

It is a beautiful weapon. My guess, it weighs about 8lb fully loaded????
P.S. That would really MAKE ANYONE'S DAY...so to speak.
