    I figure a solution to fossil fuels will be coming, what's out there right now is not a replacement in costs, practicality, nor environmentally.

    Any and all should be on the table.in the meanwhile we should be using what we have, not pretending we're green while using bad actors products.

    I agree.

    Seems to me we (apparently the World) seem to be hung up on no matter what it is, the (negative) effects of ANY proposed solution ALWAYS cancels cause. Lost is the simple scientific fact that every action creates reaction. Those who have made an industry out of what's wrong with us will always magnify and point out the flaws while diminishing the positive. It's just how those miserable f*cks live

    I've never managed to get past why are we not living now with what we have? Not like there's a do-over at the end of the ride. "We've got to think of our children" First, I've never met anyone who said that with conviction beyond droning a line that sounds good, or those that have impressed me that they actually really care.

    So WHEN exactly is it okay to use these natural resources? We're saving them for something, right? To remind us while we're paying out the ass for heating, cooling and fuel that we're just that red brick dumb?

    I'm not against progress. But I agree with the use what we have while finding better ways to do things. Theoretically, if they can make this geothermal thing work without FJ primordial god jumping out of the pits of Hell on us, everyone could be energy independent.

    I'm sure the left has a long list of crap we still can fight and kill each other over

    It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties. The freeman of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise, and entangled the question in precedents. James Madison

    @Gunny

    Something I didn't know 24 hours ago.

    Also the potential for lithium extraction where we won't be vulnerable to China and Afgh. when it comes to lithium supplies.

    I've been there. On one of my desert excursions when I was stationed in SoCal. I can say honestly I have never been/seen another shithole quite like that place. The Great Lakes got nothing on this place. It's just dead. D-E-D dead. The fish on the bank had little x's in their eyes dead.

    IIRC, it is a man-made disaster from back in the day. Salt mining? Borax? I don't recall. If they can turn that place around into a productive area and revive that community, we can fix anything, IMO. Well, except lefties

    When I posted the OP, I was looking at a company that wants to drill for geothermal energy even where not situated in the right places on the plates. They just want to go deep enough and apparently have a plan.

    Careful thinking like me and wanting our own lithium and not dependent on others

    Wonder what the leftwingnuts will bitch about? Geothermal energy could squash the greenies' energy market power grab by forcing everyone off fossil fuels onto their green crap. We know how lefties are about competition

    The Salton Sea is a frigging environmental nightmare and is only going to get worse unless they do something. Hopefully this will allow them to manage the problems going forward.
