Following the reasonable advice that it's better to say nothing than go ballistic, ignore is a good option.
I've found that's worked best for me.
I used ignore on 1 guy who's long gone who'll remained unmentioned. hogtrash
and also one other guy for about a week a sometime back I think.

Other than that i've just found it's better to skip post, not reply or ....more often lately... just stay out of certain thread topics completely.
Seems if i dip a toe in with my POV everyone just gets pissed off, including me.
And i'm getting to old to try and crack every stone i come across.

    Oh Hell.

There are some I simply do not agree with on certain things, but I'll just pass them by
unless I feel strongly about a topic.

Frankly, I think putting a person on Ignore is pretty insulting to both parties.
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

Funny. My PC used to be in the garage where my heavy bag was hanging. When I was pissed I'd beat the crap out of that thing.

And I'll reverse your argument. What about the people that don't come here because they feel it's pointless? Some weenie's going to put me on ignore. They can say what they want and not be responsible for their words.

Suffice to say, I think we both kinda agree to an extent with what the other is saying. But lets look at it this way: we are both believers in freedoms - so why not let the community, the members, have that freedom to decide for themselves if they would like to use that feature or not? I really don't think it harms anyone, and it certainly doesn't harm the community at all.

I don't think there will be many guests reading, and on the verge of joining, but change their minds because they fear someone may place them on ignore. If anything, they should be pleased that we are open with rules and moderation and allow everyone to make decisions for themselves.

And I will say this, as owner - should this be abused even once, and a click of a button and things go back to the way they were. It's not something being used/tested to create an issue, but rather give more options. I don't see it being used but more than 2-3 times in 10 years if I had to lay a wager.

Now, as for planning deaths... you're the one with the woman that hates me. Only a matter of time before she hates you too. And JUST one night that you forget and fall asleep tightly - Lorena Bobbitt comes out and you'll be wishing for death.

We're past that "matter of time" thingie. It's a matter of time alright. Just not the way you think. I'm as adept at making people hate me as you are.

I wonder who has more haters? I had USMB and now this place. You took over USMB for a long time. I'm an asshole, you're an asshole. But I'm a nice guy on occasion. Can you do that? I might have seen that happen a time or two.

Maybe it's a matter of time before someone kills one of us? They better watch out, I have an attack chihuahua!!

I am actually a nice guy. In RL, I almost never talk (which I am in course in trouble for). I mind my own business and do my own thing.

And I have TWO attack chihuahuas and this big goof Australian cattle dog. I think I won't wait on any help from the Dependers.

Sorry bubba but I can't stand chihuahuas. If I want a neurotic freak I can move in with my brother.

We had a thunderstorm 2 nights ago, a LOT of it, I thought the poor little guy was gonna have a heart attack. I took him here in my room and was CRANKING the Iron Maiden, hoping to drown out the thunder and make him feel better. I think the Maiden scared him too, and the woman sure wasn't thrilled with my ideas "for a dog".

I have never placed anyone on ignore on a forum. I'm a big boy and words on a screen can't hurt me and my ego is not so fragile that I can't handle opposition to my opinions without blowing a fuse.
