The Redskins had Larry Brown. The Cowboys had Calvin Hill and Walt Garrison. Thomas was good, but he was too busy playing "underpaid black guy". He was not a fit in a West Coast offense where he finally got dealt. He was a power runner fit for a power running team.

Simply loved Walt Garrison! That was back when the Redskins and Cowboys was a good rivalry.
Loved to hate each other! Brown was really, really good..the best back since Charley Taylor,
Bobby Mitchell, and then getting John Riggins, a beast at 245 and sprinters speed.
