Default Dems Trial Run Worked, Time For The Big Time

    Yeah.

Get ready for the Democrats' big $$ push to get Trump nominated
ED MORRISSEY 9:31 PM on November 21, 2022

Hey, their Akin strategy worked in New Hampshire, didn’t it? And in Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania too, for that matter. Democrats spent a reported $53 million boosting what Joe Biden calls “ultra-MAGA” candidates into nominations for key Senate and House races in order to protect vulnerable incumbents or open seats.

And since that strategy largely worked, we can expect Democrats to try it again in 2024. And who better to promote than the ultra-MAGAiest MAGA of all? Especially since it is beginning to dawn on Democrats than almost any other Republican with active respiration will beat Biden like a bongo drum.

    ...

If the GOP nominates anyone other than Trump to run against Biden, they’ll win, and probably easily at this point. If DeSantis gets the nomination, he’ll be nearly half Biden’s age with a long track record of executive success, a huge contrast to Biden’s bumbling and doddering failure — but nearly the same contrast would exist with Glenn Youngkin, Greg Abbott, Doug Ducey, or any of the other GOP governors who might rise to the top in 2024. The only possible winning play is to make sure Trump gets renominated, and we can expect Democrats to pull out all the stops to make that happen.

I hope that Desantis wins and is the nominee.

Both because I like him a lot, and because I think he has a better chance at this point.

I mentioned back when I did it, but the Dems are not the only ones that can play this way. They bragged about their little trick during the OH(?) primary.

While I still think it's sketchy ethics-wise, I waltzed right on down to the Dem Primary and voted for Henry Cuellar over that commie, wannabe Squad member Castro. He's one of the ones that's going to have to switch parties or retire.

DeSantis, at this point in time, has my vote. Just waiting to see how the Republican't's are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of certain victory.

As much as I like Trump at times - if he somehow takes the nomination, then that's a recipe for that perfect snatch of defeat.

Partly because he has made too many enemies, creates too much drama & already has the left so deranged - that between the folks that no longer support him, and the left willing to do anything even remotely possible to keep him out - Biden may just win, even without any brain left. That thing has long since turned to a muddy mass of crap.

I am less worried at this point about him taking the primary as I am him either running on his own, or withholding his support and encouraging his followers to do same.

I am pretty sure that one way or the other, the Dems are going to ensure Joke Biden rides off into the sunset on his bicycle with an ice cream cone.

My Dad mentioned something to me about Trump running as an independent if he doesn't get his way. That too would also guarantee a split vote loss, even if he only gets 15-20% support, but he would likely be more even if not as much as 2016 or 2020.

Just my opinion, but the RNC/GOP needs to divorce itself from Trump YESTERDAY. Let the chips fall where they lay and move on.

Trump is going to do what he is going to do. Rather obvious at this point. However, the party dumping him now gives the party and voters 2 years to get itself together. This reactionary crap from the GOP and silence from the RNC has led to nothing but last-minute, jumping through their asses losses.

I don't feel I'm all that genius. This isn't rocket science. Simple strategy and tactics. Republicans always have that deer in the headlights look like we don't already know what's coming and on what date.

    Frustrating.

Agree. However, regardless the GOP truly does have a deep bench, heck Pence doesn't stand a chance because of better candidates and he's no dolt.

^No dolt but not exactly exciting hence not having a chance.

Yep, though IF he were a Dem, he'd be lightyears ahead of ol' Joe.

I don't know that it matters if the party sends Trump to Coventry at this point, because the media is going to keep re-marrying him to us at every opportunity. They will generate a premise and a context in which to do so and will act as a single propaganda arm for the democrats without fail.
