You were spouting shit about "alternative lifestyles" and "free love" and the "traditional family". WTF does that have to do with some guy abusing his stepfather?
Unless you are saying that remarriage leads to child abuse. Which is a totally fucked up idea.

I think you mean a stepfather abusing his stepdaughter? About 8 times more likely than biological father:

    http://74.125.95.104/search?q=cache:...ient=firefox-a

With the increase in the divorce rates, more children are at greater risk than ever. Women, in their attempts to find a mate, may unwittingly be putting their children at greater risk for sexual abuse from the men they date. If the mother remarries, according to a survey done by Russell, the "stepdaughters are over eight times more at risk of sexual abuse by the stepfathers who reared them than are daughters reared by their biological fathers." (Russell, 1986, p. 103) "As some researchers have begun to suspect, it may be the case that a growing number of stepfathers are really 'smart pedophiles', men who marry divorced or single women with families as a way of getting close to children." (Crewdson, 1988, p. 31)

Work in detention for a while, and see how many kids come through who have been brutalized by step fathers and boyfriends of their mothers. Then talk to me, dumbass.

How long did you work in 'detention'? Or do you still? Serious question.

Two years in detention. Also did tracking of conditional release kids. A little less than a year in residential "family" treatment facility, which is almost the same thing, I swear. Same people, anyway. But all the kids in treatment were under 12, at leat the boys were.

Juvie had boys up to, oh, I don't remember. 20? Some who were still in the system as juveniles, but weren't technically juveniles anymore.

Eegads. I couldn't handle that, for a multitude of reasons. I thought I did at one point but opted against it in light of the employment opportunities at the time. I did work with special needs childrenand high risk families for many years (lots of learning delays from FAS, prenatal drug use, serious behavior problems from neglect, physical/sexual abuse - still makes me sick). Burnt me right out. Totally.

I have worked in juvenile detention. And I have seen a lot of kids molested by parents and stepparents. But you are making a generalization that only stepparents abuse kids. It is more likely, but not a guarantee.
But let's pose the question to the DP guys. If you are remarried and have stepchildren, how many of them have you molested? Do you blame free love and alternative lifestyle for your transgressions?

What part of 8 times MORE likely do you fail to understand? Did you catch the 'smart pedophile' deal?

Can't say I am worried about it. I have a good lawyer defending me for nothing.

"Eight times more likely" is a far cry from "everyone." But my question remains for the DP guys.

stephanie's point was about smart paedophiles. Not just paedophiles but also those men who fancy girls just into puberty. I've seen it a number of times. The woman is deserted by her husband or divorced, doing it tough as a single mother. She gets singled out by a bloke who has his eye on her daughter, woos the mother and when he's ensconced in the house he begins to groom the daughter.

So it's not about men who marry women who already have children, it's about men who marry women because they already have children.

En route to a call for a 12 year old girl that "fell out of bed" about 11 a.m.

The folks on scene informed us the kid was in cardiac arrest. We couldn't transport anyone in arrest. I landed in front of the house and the Nurse and Paramedic joined the local EMS folks for the trip to the nearest hospital performing cpr an stuff all the way. I just relocated to the hospital and waited.

Soon I found out for all practical purposes the little girl was dead at the scene. She was being watched by her moms boyfriend...she didn't fall out of bed, she was beaten.

About 40 minutes after we had her in the ER...MOM comes blasting in screaming "WHERE'S MY BABY...WHERE'S MY BABY"!!!! Heart wrenching, I knew what she didn't yet...but I stood there and thought, you know IF YOU were more responsible YOUR baby would still be alive.

The boyfriend was arrested but I don't know the outcome..perhaps like the guy in the OP he was bailed out by momma.

Loved the job but hated those moments.

Ahhhh pay back. This is another example of consequences. See I am familiar with these types of law suits and what can be expected. But, I have glabby on ignore, and I won't share any of my knowledge with her.

Glad I looked at this thread, made my evening.
