Maybe in your view, doing nothing is worth dancing over. In mine, it is better to have tried and failed (or even better...succeeded) than to not have tried at all.

By the way, I have been convinced the Nobel Prize was a joke since the day they awarded it to Arafat.
NO\ow we do have to give Obama credit

Obama has a remarkable list of "accomplishments" in only 8 months CSM

    1. Offended the Queen of England

    2. Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia

    3. Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega

    4. Kissed Hugo Chavez on the cheek

    5. Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia

    6. Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions

    7. Gave away billions to AIG, also without pre-conditions

    8. Expanded the bailouts

    9. Insulted everyone who has ever loved a Special Olympian

    10. Doubled our national debt

    11. Announced a termination of the space defense system the day after the North Koreans launched an ICBM.

    12. Despite the urgings of his own CIA director and the prior 42 CIA directors, released information on intelligence gathering. Announced major restrictions on interrogation techniques used on enemy combatant prisoners.

    13. Accepted without public comment the fact that five of his cabinet members cheated on their taxes and two other appointees withdrew after they couldn’t take the heat.

    14. Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who quickly identified as “dangers to the nation” groups including veterans of the military, and opponents to abortion on demand, and who ordered that the word “terrorism” no longer be used but instead referred to such acts as “man made disasters.”

    15. Circled the globe so he could openly apologize for America ’s shortcomings and sins.

    16. Told Mexicans the violence in their country was mostly caused by illegal guns from the U.S.

    17. Politicized the census by moving it into the White House from its Department of Commerce origins and announced ACORN [the organization under massive scrutiny amid allegations of election fraud] would manage the process.

    18. A ppointed as Attorney General the man who orchestrated the forced removal and expulsion from America to Cuba of a nine-year old whose mother died trying to bring him to a life of freedom in the United States .

    19. Salutes as heroes three Navy SEALS who took down three terrorists who threatened one American life and the next day announces members of the Bush administration will likely stand trial for torturing a terrorist who had played a part in killing 3000 Americans by pouring water over his face.

    20. On his watch, Air Force One flew over New York City for a photo op without notifying local authorities, causing widespread panic.

    21. Took over the American Automobile industry and handed over 50% off to the unions [because he said he owed them] and appointed a czar with no experience of the automotive industry.

    22. Continued his drive for abs olute gun control activities, thumbing his nose at the 2nd Amendment.

    23. Offered travel and living subsidies in the U.S. to Hamas activists displaced from the Gaza Strip.

    24. Got more airtime [TV] than Oprah Winfrey and was often out of Washington instead of tending to the real business of State.

    25. Announced the closure of enemy combatants detention center in Guantanamo Bay , Cuba but failed to address the issue of ‘what’ to do with the 200+ prisoners currently held there. Rumors persist that they’ll be housed on U.S. soil, often parroted by the Attorney General.

    26. Insists that a legally removed dictator in Honduras be reinstated.

    27. Sent condolences to the family of Michael Jackson but not to the survivors of Marine Colonel Ed McMahon or Farrah Fawcett.

The Nobel Prize committee is about as useless as the UN.

This award is about as honorable as being awarded a Silver Star for flying over to Iraq for a day visit. But then you know that. All it has done (along with all the other awards for less then noble efforts) is devalue the award for those who truly deserved it.

I understand that is your opinion, but you failed to answer my simple question.

Did the Nobel Prize committee cite anything that was factually inaccurate regarding Obama?

Nowhere do I see where he deserves the Nobel Prize

Cmon, the whole frikking thing was factually inaccurate. Obama took office TWO WEEKS before the nominations closed. He had ZERO impact in those two weeks...nada...none. We can debate what he has done SINCE then but to say he had an impact in the TWO WEEKS prior to the closing of nominations is pure, unadulterated bullshit. He was a junior senator and presedential CANDIDATE. His foreign policy hadn't even gotten out of draft form yet.

I suppose the committee believed his campaign promises and that was justification enough but to me, something smells rotten in Denmark!

I think it's hilarious that he got this award. He has done the same damn thing as GWB as far as "peace" is concerned since he took office. The left wants GWB brought up on charges and now they'll sit and glow while Obama gets a fake prize for doing NOTHING to earn this award.

Like everything else with the Little Marxist this is a friggen joke..
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself."

clearly, since they cited his speech in Cairo, they took more into consideration than simply his first two weeks in office. Again... what was factually inaccurate in their statement?

Here are a few things I would like to accomplish before I die:

1- Get rid of all nukes
    2- Stop all wars
3- Give poor lots of money to survive
4- Make everyone love one another

Nevermind that these are just things I WANT to accomplish, but haven't actually accomplished one damn thing yet - I deserve the peace award for my beautiful visions!

And that's what happened here. Obama talks a good talk but the FACTS of the matter are that he hasn't accomplished jack shit yet to ear this award. He's fighting 2 wars, Israel & Palestine are still killing one another, Al Qaeda and Bin Laden are publicly laughing at him, Iran is developing nukes.... He promised to close guantanomo but it won't happen when he says. He promised to end the Iraq war but it's still going, and he's hedging his bets on Afghanistan as soldiers die around his hesitant decision. And they give him a fucking award for accomplishing NOTHING? Hell, at least GWB took out Saddam and tons of Al Qaeda to go along with him.

Again, the whole thing is inaccurate. All I can say is that the committee's standards are pretty damn low. One speech does not make a leader of world peace, I don't care how you try to spin this, skippy. I know you believe that hypocricy is good character trait but this a stretch even for you.

Not to worry though, I hear the Roman Catholic Church is about to make him the world's only living saint. They found his baptism and confirmation certificates while they were looking for his birth certificate.

Congrats Jim - you should now be held in high esteem with libs liek Viregil. You care and that is all that matters

Now, if you support tax increases to make those dreams become reality - man he would really become a hardcore supporter of yours

The Hope and Change Express is not living up to the hype - and many voters are seeing Obama for what he is

    A fake and a fraud

But the liberal media is still defending him, and pushing his tax and spend agenda on a daily basis
