The 'good' news out of all this is that, as more people are allowed in, so the cries of how our infrastructure cannot cope will become ever more strident. Give it ten years, possibly less, and I think that social unrest will become commonplace from just this cause. It all depends on who's in Government at the time as to whether the situation is salvageable .. if Labour's Jeremy Corbyn somehow becomes our PM, he'll ensure an open-door policy REGARDLESS of population rises. The Conservatives, if in power, and IF we're out of the EU in the next few years, will have no excuse not to act to enforce hardline controls (as matters stand, they're hamstrung to an extent thanks to the EU's own 'non-borders' policy). The Conservatives may see their future political survival in terms of their ability to succeed.
