so uhhhh, why are you a bush supporter? Do you consider his service in the National Guard as enough experience to run a war?

    How about Cheney?

what does bush and cheney's experiences have to do with murtha and cleland's decision?

OK, I didn't read through all 384 preceding posts, but here's the only point I'd like to make here:

If the Democrats were really serious about bringing the troops home, etc.etc., they would have passed a BINDING resolution to do so. This resolution isn't worth the paper it's written on. For all we know, the President is getting his toilet paper imprinted with the words of this resolution so it might serve some purpose.

From a Democratic political standpoint: right now, the war is very unpopular, and the Dems won the midterm elections partially because of the war's unpopularity. So if the Dems can still use the war in 2008 as an issue to get votes, they will. Therefore, the Dems will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to bring the troops home in the next 23 months. Why? Because they are using the war as a political issue to gain the White House. That's why the only thing coming out of Congress is a non-binding resolution.
