I'm pretty certain that Obama worships no deity other than himself. Well that would be wrong, he expects others to worship him, he worships nothing. Not religious in any sense of the word. Not Muslim, Christian, Deist, or anything.

Every organisation is involved in some sort of politics. But regardless no church should think have the god-given (pun!) right to speak at some event, when its not their event.
If you also agree that an animals suffering should be avoided rather than encouraged, consider what steps you can take.

He wanted to make sure that they knew that this was not a partisan act on his part and that he would be just as happy and grateful to accept an invitation from the Democrats as he would to have received one from the Republicans,” said Zwilling.

Nobody was "assuming" anything but you it seems.

Nothing sinister or untoward, but clergy lobbying Congressmen and Senators in an official capacity falls into that category.

Yeah, and they know, and didn't want him to speak. Great, who cares?

Yet, he wasn't lobbying, just responding to a question.

Unless the other "high ranking Catholic official" is Pope Benedict, Obama is opting for a subordinate when he had the opportunity for the big enchilada.

I'm guessing it's old Father Fleabag Fleeger (Pheelger?) from the Chicago liberation theology school.
Mama Jeffro: Jeeeeh-froooo! What's going on down there? What's that smell?
Jeffro: Nothing ma! Me and Lorenzo are practicing our Turkish oil wrestling.

The only reason this would be a story, is if Obama was denying something that should happen.
That is why my first post said this is a non-story.

MM said that the Catholic should have 'mic time', i do not think so, thus my text you quoted.

Why would anyone care which catholic is sitting listening to a load of dems giving speeches?

And that is where atheism takes you on current events.
