Hi everyone. Found your site and looked good so decided to take the plunge. I'm married to a wonderful woman who's been my biggest support for 22 years, have 3 awesome children and retired from the USCG after 23 years. Nowadays I run my own boat charter and do random odds and ends for extra cash. I'm a huge sports fan and root for all Pittsburgh teams (where I'm from). Also like to travel, read, follow politics and spend time with the family.

I lived in Pittsburgh in the earlier 80's, found it better than i expected left it sooner than i wanted to.

lived in Oakland and near Duquesne University for a while. flopped at friends house in Shaddyside when i ran outta money and job and had to go home.

Good memories, some life changing events for me there.

still not a Stealers fan though. My brother and Dad were hard cord Stealers fans. it was great when i lived there that my team, the Raiders, beat them in the Superbowl... from the wildcard spot no less.

It's a funny thing, but you'd think I'd belong more on UK discussion sites than here. But, not a bit of it. I feel more at home HERE than on my own country's 'equivalents'.

I actually identify more with many of the staunchly patriotic Conservatives here, than I do my 'own' people ! I recognise like minds here, and appreciate knowing them. This is a great place, in my view.
