How well it worked out isn't really the point. Whether you think Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan were legitimate or not doesn't change the fact that they should have been "slapped down." My solution? There isn't really a shooting solution IMO. There won't be peace there until living conditions in Palestine improve. Of course Israel will still be a scapegoat for all the problems in the ME.
