Default What a mess in Minneapolis

Who's following the George Floyd story out there?

This one is a police bust, but IMO I can make a case for murder here. All kinds of martial arts moves are known that can be used to help cut off the circulation of your opponent to get them to tap out or pass out. The Refs are there watching closely understanding to stop the fight immediately if someone refuses to tap out and they pass out. So they protect them. I've seen guys lay flat on top of others, and embed their shoulder blade into the guys throat and cut it off that way with all of your body weight on top of them. Generally guys tap out quickly as not only don't they want to pass out, but it IS like a torture in a sense, IMO.

So the cops busted this guy. And AFTER he was in handcuffs and on his stomach doing nothing wrong, the cop dug his full body weight on his kneecap into the guys neck. The guy was clearly struggling for a long time to breathe and begging for help. Bystanders were even pleading for him to get off. But he stayed in that position for 6 full minutes and the guy died as a result.

The cop and 3 others were all fired. And of course now protesting, and likely deserved. They need to be charged with murder and I agree with those who are pissed off.

BUT, in comes Maxine Waters to blame Trump. Colin Kaepernick is calling for a revolt. And the protests quickly went from peaceful, to shutting down highways and destroying police cars. Then looting and destroying and burning businesses. I understand the anger on this one, but no one wins when this shit happens either.

Here's video of the cop on top of him. Tons of stories out there on this one.

Need I say more?” - Chris Rock

The cop who had his knee on his neck should be charged with a crime: manslaughter probably. But I don't see why folks are assuming the cop did it because floyd was black.

That's the one, sadly I don't do Netflix.

Yep, I think he should be charged with murder, not manslaughter. The man was obviously out, yet the cop continued. With hand in pocket, no way was he concerned about the man attacking him or others.

The other cops, the ones who didn't pull him off? Accessories.

Motivation for the kneeing cop? Who the hell knows. Power? Manly man? Avenger of fake 20's? Bigot?

I do not support hate crimes. There's plenty of discretionary power to give more time to the more heinous. No way to know what the hell motivates the perps.

Yeah I was actually thinking second degree murder based on what I was taught second degree murder was. But many times in these situations manslaughter charges are brought for some reason.

That cop should definitely be charged with murder. The other cops charged because they failed to stop the obvious --ABUSE!!!!
In my life I have sen many times cops abuse innocent civilians. I have seen it often enough to basically despise ffking cops!!!
And those victims were primarily white. I would say about 70% of cops abuse the power given them and many do so intentionally, repeatedly and criminally.
I myself at age 19, in 1973 was arrested, kicked in the back as I was stepping into the jail cell, fell forward with my hands still cuffed. Injured my left shoulder. My crime, -Fighting- my plea-- Self-defense as the other man had hit me from behind with a pool cue in a bar. I later found out that the cop that kicked me was a relative of the guy that I had beat the living hell out of.
And yes, that worthless bastard knew I was defending myself in that fight.. As everybody knew the story, I was arrested on an arrest warrant for that altercation about 3 months later. Everybody knew the damn truth of it.
Tragic that I never got the opportunity to ever deliver some justice to that ffking cop..
Tis' one of my deep regrets in my life... A fact.... -Tyr
    This is all 100% true.

I started watching this around 12am, CST, just as the police station was abandoned and set on fire.

Regardless of the spark of murder, nothing justifies anarchy. The vast majority of the citizenry that await justice do not deserve watching their city burn.

Minneapolis in particular, MN in general were considered models of governance 25 years ago. No more. No one with two brain cells appears to have a handle on it. They let the city burn. They made the police irrelevant and plan on sending them out again? Idiots.

Now they intend to 'restore order.' The governor just admitted that they gave the protesters pretty much free reign last night, thinking they needed to blow off steam. Nothing, they learned nothing from Baltimore.
